Basic Questions and Answers about Waxing

Why should you wax instead of shave? The process of waxing is much easier and much quicker than shaving. Waxing also works much more efficiently than shaving. While shaving only trims and takes off the top of each hair follicle, waxing pulls each hair follicle from the root. Shaving takes a few days to a week to get right back to where it was before, while waxing takes a few weeks. Waxing takes much longer for the hair to grow back, because a completely new hair has to grow in. It also helps keep hair from coming back in thick. Waxing actually thins the hair out, making each time you wax easier and easier.

Will waxing cause wrinkles? Waxing does not cause wrinkles. Wrinkles come from skin damage and waxing is actually good for your skin. It exfoliates your skin, leaving you with healthy skin.

How often should you wax? It really varies from client to client. You should at least wait until the hair in the area you want waxed is one fourth of an inch. Most estheticians in Denver Waxing will not wax unless the hair is that long.

What does it feel like? Does it hurt? Most people experience a discomfort when getting a wax; however, the more often you wax instead of shave, the less and less it will be discomforting for you.
