What You Need to Know About Denver Waxing

You might think that your first visit to a Denver laser medical spa for Denver waxing is as simple as showing up, sitting back, and letting the hair removal magic happen. While you’re right that waxing is simple, that doesn’t mean that there aren’t some things you should and can do to improve your results and have an all around better experience, whether it’s your first wax or your fortieth. First and foremost, know that waxing is, in most cases, the only hair removal method you’ll need to use. If you’re going to wax regularly, there’s no need to shave  or use other hair removal techniques. If you must perform “touch-ups” in between waxes, tweezing is your best alternative.

You may be worried about pain or discomfort during or after your Denver waxing session. While most reputable salons, such as Studio Urban Wax, do their best to make you as comfortable as possible, you can take a couple of mild over-the-counter painkillers, such as Ibuprofen or Aspirin, before and/or after your waxing session. These can help to dull any pain that you may experience and can also help to reduce sensitivity after your wax.

While certainly not required, it is a good idea to wash and exfoliate the area to be waxed the day before you go into the salon. This will remove any dead, dry skin and will create a fresher, more prepped area for easier, quicker waxing. On the actual day of the wax, however, avoid lotions, creams, makeup, or other beauty products that can make hair removal more difficult or that can keep stubborn hairs from being removed.
