Brazilian Wax vs. Bikini Wax: Which Should You Choose?

"The problem with the gene pool is that t...Image by turtlemom4bacon via FlickrIf you are looking into getting waxed in that special area, you may be curious as to whether you should get a bikini wax or go full out and get the Brazilian wax. Although the basic principles are the same, the two procedures are different and have different results. Choosing between the two can be a little difficult if you don’t know the difference between the two.

Your bikini line is the imaginary line in your pubic region that delineates that part which would normally be covered by the bottom part of a swimsuit. A bikini wax removes hair on the outside of this line. It is the same basic process as waxing eyebrows or legs. Wax is applied with a cloth and pulled off to remove the hair. If you are looking to leave some hair in the bikini region, a bikini wax is what you should choose.

A Denver Brazilian Wax is different from a bikini wax because it removes all hair, not just the area around your bikini line. From the front, behind, and in between, all hair is waxed, leaving you hairless in that entire region. The actual process is slightly different. A powder is applied to your skin to keep the wax from sticking to your skin. The special wax used in Denver Brazilian wax is spread on your skin and hair and cloth is applied and then pulled off along with the wax and hair.

The processes are pretty much the same, but the results are what you have to choose between. It really depends on what you are looking for.

  1. Bikini and Brazilian waxes have distinct procedures, but both are advantageous. If you haven’t undergone Brazilian waxing, it will be more advisable to undergo bikini waxing first. In bikini waxing, only the hair outside the bikini area is removed. Meanwhile, in Brazilian waxing, the hair in the entire region is removed. Once you undergo bikini waxing, you are less like to be surprised when you go for Brazilian waxing.
