Get Rid of Razor Burn

It goes by many names: razor burn, razor bumps, shaving irritation, and more. Call it what you will, but there’s nothing fun about the painful, raised, red bumps that shaving can often leave behind, particularly if those bumps are in your most private areas. While there are many supposed strategies for preventing razor burn, it’s better just to nix shaving all together and to choose a Denver Brazilian wax instead. Waxing is much quicker and easier than shaving and any discomfort only lasts for a moment, which is a lot better than battling weeks of razor burn!

If you didn’t follow this advice and, instead of getting a Denver Brazilian wax, took a razor to your most personal spot, there are a few things you can do to reduce irritation and feel better. First of all, don’t bother the area. Don’t pick at it, rub it, scratch it, or worst of all, shave over the bumps again. All of this will only make it worse. If you must do something to relieve the pain, use an over the counter product designed to ease the discomfort of razor bumps and burn.

Keeping Wrinkles Away

Everyone wants vibrant, youthful looking skin, and nothing makes skin look older than fine lines and wrinkles. While some aging is a natural part of life and can’t be avoided, you should know that you can keep many wrinkles from forming by taking proper care of your skin. That starts with avoiding excess exposure to the sun, which is a leading cause of premature aging. You don’t have to be soaking in the sun to suffer from sun damage and sun related aging; just being outdoors on a regular basis, even if it’s just for a few minutes, can cause sun damage, so always use products containing sun block or just plain old sun block itself to protect your skin.

Also strive to live a healthy lifestyle in general. Poor diet, lack of exercise, excessive alcohol consumption, and the use of tobacco products all have the potential to age the skin and contribute to wrinkle development.

For those wrinkles that have already cropped up, consider visiting a Denver laser medical spa to learn about the many options available for reducing the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.

Sensitive Skin? Skip Scented Products

Everyone knows that practicing good Denver skin care, meaning skin care that’s designed to help your skin stand up to Colorado’s harsh weather conditions, is the only way to have healthy, beautiful, youthful looking skin. What some people don’t realize, however, is that some of their “beautifying” Denver skin care products could actually be causing their skin to look and feel older and less healthy.

Not all skin care products are right for all skin types, and if you choose the wrong product for your skin, you could be doing more harm than good. This is especially true for those with sensitive skin. The wrong products can cause breakouts and can sap moisture from the skin.

It’s important that you take the time to educate yourself about your specific skin type and its unique needs. A good rule of thumb for those with sensitive skin, however, is to steer away from heavily scented lotions or other products. Scented Denver tanning lotions, creams, and other products can often be irritating to sensitive skin and can dry it out.

Maintain Your Manicure

Truly beautiful women know that beauty is in the details; this means taking care of your body from the top of your head to the tips of your toes. You can easily take care of your most intimate spots by getting a Denver bikini wax regularly and by booking other Denver wax sessions to take care of unwanted hair on the arms, legs, back, upper lip, or anywhere else. While hair removal is important, you should also take care of your fingernails. Nothing looks worse than ragged, bitten nails or chipped nail polish; something small like that can easily detract from the beauty you work so hard to maintain.

Regular manicures can create strong, healthy, beautiful nails, but even the most meticulous manicures can easily become chipped as time passes. Maintain your manicure by allowing nails to dry thoroughly before you do anything else and by regularly using a topcoat to seal in color.

Use Concealer Correctly

Smart, stylish ladies (and gentlemen!) know that Denver waxing sessions are an easy way to get rid of unwanted hair. What do you do, however, about unwanted blemishes on the skin? The good news is that concealers are designed to hide those fine lines, wrinkles, dark spots, acne, and other unsightly marks you’re not a fan of. The bad news is that many people don’t know how to properly use concealer to get the results they want. A good rule of thumb to keep in mind is that you should always put your foundation on before using concealer.

Apply foundation liberally, making sure you’re using the right foundation for your skin. Those with dry skin, for example, should use a liquid foundation and/or a moisturizing foundation, while powder foundations are better for oilier skin. Once you’ve applied your foundation, take a look in the mirror and then use your concealer to cover up any spots that the foundation didn’t take care of.

Top off your newly beautiful face with a Denver brow wax to shape and define your eyebrows and create an even more polished look. You can learn more about make-up application and book a Denver waxing appointment by contacting Studio Urban Wax.

What’s Hot in Hair?

Spring is here, which means, before you know it, it will be summer. You might think, with the upcoming heat, that people would be opting for shorter hair styles to help keep them cool, but that’s actually not the case. Long, slick, layered hair is what’s in for summer, and it’s easy to achieve this classy look. If you already have long hair, see your stylist to ask for a layered cut. You can choose the length of your longest and shortest layers to control hair length, and you can also play around with different variations on the layered look, such as reverse layering. Those who already have straight locks can get away with nothing more than a smoothing product to combat frizz, while curly-haired fashionistas will need to arm themselves with a  good blow dryer and/or a flat iron. For those with shorter hair styles, extensions are an option if you’ve got your heart set on achieving the latest look.

Celebrate getting the hair you want by getting rid of the hair you don’t want; book a Denver hair removal session at Studio Urban Wax. In Denver, body waxing is a popular option for eliminating unwanted hair and looking silky smooth all spring and summer long!
